All products are handmade and shipped directly from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

 

1. Order Processing & Manufacturing Time (The Working Policy)

Due to the artisanal nature of our products, particularly the traditional Habesha Kemis, order processing times vary significantly. This time covers quality control and preparation for shipment.

You will receive an Order Confirmation Email immediately after purchase. You will receive a separate Shipping Confirmation Email with tracking details once your order has been prepared and collected by the carrier.

 

2. Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates

We utilize major international carriers (e.g., DHL, FedEx, UPS, or EMS Postal Services) for reliable international delivery.

3. International Customs, Duties, VAT & Taxes (Critical Policy)

Our shipments are sent Delivery Duties Unpaid (DDU).

The Kaba's Store is not responsible for any import duties, customs taxes, VAT, or tariffs incurred once your shipment reaches your destination country. These charges are the sole responsibility of the customer.

United States (USA) Orders valued under $800 USD typically enter duty-free under the De Minimis threshold. Orders exceeding this amount may incur duties. US customers rarely pay duty on single items like dresses, simplifying the process.
Canada, European Union (EU), & United Kingdom (UK) Your order will be subject to VAT (Value Added Tax) or GST (Goods and Services Tax), as well as potential customs duties, levied by your local postal service or customs agency. These territories rigorously enforce import taxes. Customers will be contacted by the carrier and must pay these fees before the package is delivered.
All Customers Refusal to Pay: If you refuse to pay the duties and taxes due, the package will be abandoned by the carrier or returned to Ethiopia (which can be a costly process). We are not able to issue refunds for items refused at customs. It is critical for customers to understand these are not shipping fees, but government-mandated taxes.

 

4. Checking Order Status & Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number and a link to check its status.

Please allow 48 hours for the tracking information to become active and available in the carrier's system.

5. Shipping Restrictions

We are currently unable to ship to P.O. boxes, APO, or FPO addresses. Please ensure you provide a physical street address at checkout to guarantee successful delivery. Orders placed with a P.O. box will be contacted for an alternate address, which may cause significant delays.
